Surf Lessons
Beginner group 1
Beginner Group Level 1 classes are offered on weekends for $80 per person. Classes last 2 hours and are available to adults and teens 16 and up. Beginner Classes are perfect for beginner and first time surfers who have never stood on board or are trying to stand more consistently. Classes focus on pop up techniques, balance, and safety. Class size is kept small (usually around 4-6 people) Level 1 classes are held in the Channel when posable in waist deep water where students can ride the white water. Foam surfboards are included, and wetsuits and booties are available.

Beginner group 2
Beginner Group Level 2 Classes are offered on weekends for $80 per person. Classes last 2 hours and are available to adults and teens 16 and up. These classes are designed for beginner surfers who want to surf beyond the whitewater for the first time. Classes focus on timing, etiquette and dropping into waves before they break and how "the lineup" works. Class size is kept small (usually around 4-5 people). Level 2 classes are held at the Patch when posable so students can paddle and catch waves before they break. Foam surfboards are included, and wetsuits and booties are available (booties are recommended for the Patch).

Level 1 Private Lessons
Level 1 Private Lessons are designed for first time and beginner surfers. Level 1 Private Lessons last 2 hours and can be scheduled for adults and kids ages 6 and up. Cost is $180 for the first person and $50 for each additional participant. Level 1 Private Lessons are perfect for people who have never stood on a surfboard or are trying stand more consistently. These lessons focus on pop up techniques, balance, and safety and are usually taught in the Channel in waist deep water. Foam surfboards are included, and wetsuits and booties are available.

Level 2 Private Surf Lessons are designed for beginner surfers who want to take their surfing to the next level and surf beyond the white water. Level 2 Private Lessons last 2 hours and are available to adults and kids 12 and up. Cost is $180 for the first person and $50 for each additional participant. Level 2 Private Lessons can be tailored to your ability and can focus on paddling out, timing, etiquette, how "the lineup" works and dropping into waves before they break. Level 2 Privates are held at the Patch when posable. Foam surfboards are included, and wetsuits and booties are available (booties are recommended for the Patch).

Private Group Lessons
Private Group Lessons are available for groups of 7 or more people and can be scheduled for adults or kids ages 8 and up. Private Group Lessons last 2 hours and cost $70 per person. Private Group Lessons are a great way to learn to surf with a group of friends, co-workers or birthday parties and can be scheduled during the week or on the weekends. Foam surfboards are included, and wetsuits and booties are available. Please call or email to schedule a Private Group Lesson.

All Equipment is available and can be reserved for your lesson with your booking. Surfboards are included in the lessons price and 4/3mm wetsuit and booties are available for a $25 cleaning fee.
Please arrive 10 minutes before your lesson if you need a wetsuit you need to put your wetsuit on. Lessons will be cancelled if student arrives more than 30 minutes late to a private lesson or 10 minutes late to a group class.

You will meet your instructor at the entrance to Bolinas Beach on the boat ramp at the end of Brighton Avenue. If you don’t see your instructor please wait for them on the boat ramp as they may be finishing up another lesson. Please don’t look for them on the beach.

It takes about an hour from the Golden Gate Bridge or from Petaluma if there is no traffic. If your lesson is on a weekend, you should give yourself at least an extra ½ hour to compensate for traffic and parking.

Surf Lessons are offered from March through October when the conditions are ideal for beginners.

Surf lesson: You can cancel a lesson 5 days prior to its scheduled time with no penalty. However, there are no refunds if you cancel within 5 days. Lessons canceled with at least 24 or more hours’ notice can be rescheduled but no shows and last-minute cancellations (within 24 hours) are not refundable and are not eligible for make ups.

*All participants must sign a digital waver after booking. Digital wavers must be done by each student and each child's actual parent or legal guardian. No exceptions!
