All of the surfing equipment you will need for your lesson is available for rent from 2 Mile Surf Shop and can be kept for either the full day of your lesson or for a ½ day.

For beginner lessons we recommend using a foam longboard. These boards are made of the same soft foam as boogie-boards, and are the perfect choice for beginners. Because they are longboards, they are stable, easy, and safe.

After your first beginner lesson we encourage you to try a Sunset or Soft Top board. These boards have an epoxy core and a soft foam exterior. As you improve, we have a variety of fiberglass surfboards to try. Some of these boards are hand-shaped by John Moore at 2 Mile Surf Shop. Give them a try!

2 Mile Surf Shop also rents Xcel wetsuits and boots. Wetsuits are 4/3mm, the warmest wetsuits offered by any surf school in California. We have a range of sizes to accommodate all students -- men and women, children and adults. Although the water in Northern California can be cold, these wetsuits will keep you very warm during your lesson.

2 Mile Surf Shop has created two Surf Lesson Equipment Rental Packages for your surf lessons. These packages include all of the gear needed for your lesson and will accommodate both beginner and intermediate surf students. By using one of these packages with your lesson you will receive a $5 to $10 discount of the regular rental price and you are assured to have the best gear reserved for your lesson.

Full Day Beginner Equipment Package includes a Foam longboard, 4/3mm wetsuit and Booties - $30.

Half Day Beginner Equipment Package includes a Foam longboard, 4/3mm wetsuit and Booties - $20.

Boards, wetsuits and Booties are available as individual rental items from the 2 Mile Surf Shop for either the full day or for a ½ day.
